SUMMARY:The Other Side of Ropes
DESCRIPTION:The Other Side of Ropes is an exchange and research event focused on being in ropes. Our aim is to explore ropes from the other side. How can we approach it. How to improve our skills and deepen the experience of tying together.\n\nRope-bottoming development is a lot about sharing. However\, we believe it cannot be separated from the ones who tie. Learning and growing together is important. Therefore riggers are not only welcome\, but strongly encouraged to take part and contribute.\n\nThere is going to be a lot of exchange in form of discussions\, but also a lot of hands-on workshops\, study and research groups on bottoming styles\, body awareness\, communication skills\, exploring different mindsets and emotions\, staying safe\, healthy and of course tying.\n\nThis event will be partially in an un-conference style. Official presenters will offer their knowledge in pre-scheduled workshops. At the same time participants will also have an opportunity to bring their own topics either by requesting or opening them for research together with others or presenting them themselves.\nProgram\n\n 	10:15 Door opening\n 	11:00-12:30 Workshops\n 	12:30-14:00 Workshops\n 	14:00-16:00 Lunch break\n 	16:00-17:30 Workshops\n 	17:30-19:00 Workshops\n 	20:00-22:00 (Saturday) Free tying (aka bondage jam)\, talking\, socializing\n\nThere will be 2 simultaneous blocks (discussion\, group or other format) blocks at the same time. Program is not fixed. We will create the program together at the beginning of each day.\n\nAll workshops will be held in English.\n\nThere is a pre-party with live music on Friday 8.3.2024.\nPresenters\nOfficial presenters will be:\nAnna\nAnna as a physiotherapist with a comprehensive knowledge of nerves and the spine. She connects shibari with safety\, education\, and overall prevention of all types of injuries. She has taught several workshops focusing on nerves\, the spine and other parts of the body.\nAnna Noctuelle &amp\; Fred Hatt\n[caption id="attachment_79419" align="alignright" width="300"] Model: Anna Noctuelle\, Rope: Fred Hatt\, Photo: Anna Bones[/caption]\n\nAnna Noctuelle is a highly experienced and versatile Shibari practitioner with over 18 years of experience. Her journey with Shibari began as a personal discovery and has since evolved into a multifaceted practice encompassing teaching\, modelling and performing. Her dedication to sharing her passion for Shibari has taken her to various rope communities across Europe teaching workshops and captivating audiences with performances since 2016.\n\nAnna’s artistic journey has been deeply influenced by her diverse background. With a foundation in classical dance and with her breath work practice\, she brings grace\, elegance\, and a keen sense of body awareness to her Shibari practice. Her exploration of Buddhism and meditation\, as well as her commitment to yoga\, have shaped her aesthetic and philosophical approach to Shibari\, lending it a spiritual depth and tranquility. Being a linguist in her other life she’s constantly exploring the communicative aspects of Shibari\, adding to her interdisciplinary approach. My passion for kinbaku centers around power exchange\, and to arrive at a point where an erotic and aesthetic experience can meet. I am often drawn to the complexity of submission\, objectification and suffering\, and I believe the partnership between tying and tied to be the core of the practice. \nWhen it comes to teaching and sharing\, I’m interested in practices that support rope bottoming. Why do things work when they do\, and what can we do to increase the chances of having the kind of play we desire? And how can we make sure we’re able to enjoy it not only for the moment\, but for a long time to come?”\n\nLily found rope in 2015 when she was in the middle of a professional ballet career\, therefore she has been drawn to exploration of shapes and body manipulation in ropes. Rope performances is also a passion. Exact address will be sent to you by mail after confirmation of your registration.\nWorkshop level\nThis event is suitable for all levels\, but experience with rope is more than welcome..\nBring with you\nBring with you:\n\n 	ropes (optional)\n 	your partner (rigger or bottom - also optional)\n\nSubspace studio is equipped with futons\, blankets\, kitchen\, shower\, etc.\nRegistration\nIt is necessary to register in advance\, places are very limited. You can find a registration form below. Price is per person. Please register exact number of places (i.e. for a couple choose 2 places).
